Arash Lockewood
AR i don’t really believe in fortune. or fate.
AR it’s not very rational… or good for you.
AR you should want your power to be in your own hands.
AR otherwise… you’re just coasting on your own inaction, right?
AR …yeah. you’re better off putting your faith in what’s real. like people.

Apfulseye
The Mark Specter. Apfuleye are a grazing Specter that first appeared in medieval England. Though relatively peaceful, they were a nuisance in hunting grounds and even battlefields. The only way to scare an Apfulseye away is to hit it with exact precision, so people would use them as target practice.

Overview
A quiet huntsman who enjoys training and observing the world in hiding, surrounded by foliage. However, he can’t resist an opportunity to lend a hand, especially if it requires excellent vision and aim.
He is always carrying food with him to feed the hungry - a charity that's made him a hero and legend of sorts.

Trivia
- Justice, especially for those who lack the ability to fight back, is the main reason he ever comes out of the woods. Though not particularly social, he always keeps an eye on the towns and people in his periphery. He has a rather blunt way of settling conflict (if not by force, then by wit) and will rarely stick around afterwards.
- He doesn’t particularly enjoy attention - seeing it as superficial - but will accept gifts of food for him to enjoy for himself and distribute to others.
- Underneath his stern features is a well-mannered gentleman. Townsfolk theorize that he may have come from an upper-class background, which explains why a ‘man of the woods’ can seem so refined at times.
- During his teenage years, he worked odd jobs in order to make ends meet. This is how he became acquainted with then-model Mimi Ōshiro as her bodyguard. Though he found the job distasteful, he bonded with Mimi and continues to stay in touch with her.
- He drops by Mimiland now and then to study the topiaries, fact-check the stories that incorporate traditional folklore, and do a wellness-check for the employees. He doesn’t seem particularly charmed by the fairytale kingdom, though he does appreciate some of the stories.
- He prefers to call Mimi by her middle name - Marianne - the name she used to go by back then.
- Godfrey Boivin also appears to be an old friend of sorts, though their relationship is much more antagonistic and moreso resembles a rivalry. Arash has long vowed to conquer that purple bastard’s ego, and the two can usually be seen fighting whenever they’re together.
- When they were children, Godfrey often sought out a lone Arash just to pick on him. They would have meaningless arguments - such as what was the superior juice, apple or grape - and Arash would escalate it to violence, getting both of them in trouble.
- Arash appears to dislike alcohol purely due to him associating it with Godfrey.
- Easily befuddled by basic technology, Arash has fallen far behind the advancements of civilization. It seems that anything from the last several centuries is too modern for him. He’s currently working through inventions in the 19th century.
- Baked goods are his greatest weakness. He can spot fresh pie on a windowsill from a mile away.
- Your typical interaction with Arash is rather one-sided, since he’s not much of a conversationalist.
- He is more content listening than speaking, anyway. And people read his silence just fine, even having fun coming up with their own interpretations.
- His personal code barrs him from turning a blind eye to anyone in need.
- This includes those outcast from society, such as ne’er-do-wells like him. It can also include outlaws and criminals, which has put him even more at odds with local law enforcement.
- He has grown somewhat of a following wherever he goes, so it is not uncommon to see a group of lower-class people merrily gathering around him whenever he’s in town. Arash jokes that those who have not struggled can only join his band if they best him in a duel.
- In his arsenal of weapons - aside from his classic bow and arrow - are a sword, slingshot, and boomerang. He is adept with all of them, thanks to his Value and ambidextrous combat skills.
- Samintha Sherwood, his grandmother, took care of him as a child whenever he visited the countryside. While she tended to the farm, he spent the day exploring outside, going on his own little adventures. He speaks of her fondly, as she instilled in him freedom and old-fashioned values.
- She still lives on the farm, taking care of the trees he scratched up and the chickens he terrorized.
- While he lives in the forest, he isn’t on the best terms with all the animals. He may seem close to nature compared to the average person, but nature doesn’t wholly welcome him - maybe because he’s a bit out of his element. It also doesn’t help that he always carries around threatening weapons. So, as much as he wants their acceptance, he rarely receives it.
- One of his lifelong goals as an archer is to reach the upper limit of how far one can make a bull’s-eye. He hopes to reach 1,000 miles between himself and his target one day.
- Running into Arash at least once is inevitable for nature-oriented travelers. Subsequently (and reluctantly) he’s taken to guiding the young ones he sees wandering more frequently, as he worries for them.
- Since he’s technically an outlaw, Arash has a large bounty out for his arrest.
- He has been captured several times, but he manages to find ways to either slip away or trick his foes. He also has a positive enough reputation for the average civilian to turn a blind eye.
- Traveling inventor Jenny Faire came close to nabbing him for the reward money but was ultimately swayed to his side. She makes an effort to visit him and usher him towards society! Arash regards her highly, even if he doesn’t share her innovative enthusiasm.
- His Value is as useful as it is burdensome. Like how SOUND can pick up even the smallest noises, SCOPE can easily overwhelm the user with visual stimulation. Arash is often seen closing his eyes to block it out.
