The Tomb Specter. Khanubi are seen as disturbers of the dead, invading spaces where ancient civilizations are buried. However, they are also seen as protectors of the dead, as they guard the areas with the same passion. They judge people harshly and will attack if they see evil weighing in their heart.

Overview
An enigmatic, enterprising explorer of ancient areas, like burial grounds. His keenest interest is artifacts, ideally rich in both historical and financial worth. He is truly a force to be reckoned with when it comes to what he deems ‘valuable’.
It seems like greed at first, but he appears truly devoted to preservation.

Trivia
- Obsessive of order yet willing to disrupt everything that captures his attention, holding high standards yet prioritizing the strangest things - Amir can be a truly paradoxical person. His uptight pride as a Chakrabarti is often at odds with what he sees as True Value, which can range from gleaming luxury to a dirty fossil covered in dirt.
- Possessing grand things is nice, but the act of ‘discovering’, as well as polishing and curating, is a life-long thrill to him. Yuna, his older sister, once gave him a fine, polished gemstone in an old jewelry box for his 8th birthday. He accepted it graciously, though she later found him cleaning and studying the box, the gemstone simply placed on a shelf. She was initially frustrated but would end up adapting her gift-giving technique accordingly.
- From a young age, Amir has been fascinated with history and culture from centuries past. He particularly admires cradles of civilization, as they embody the rapid, yet independent development of complex societies. As a result, History has always been his best class, though he has a tendency to redirect the course’s subject matter whenever it’s focused on a culture that isn’t ancient or interesting enough.
- Though not as gothic as his sister, Amir incorporates similar dark colors in all of his outfits. He also takes great care to dress formally - a habit ingrained in him by virtue of his class.
- He can spend hours picking what to wear, so he usually wakes up very early to account for it.
- His accessories allude to historical artifacts or monuments. For example, the three yellow barrettes he wears are a tribute to the three great pyramids of Ancient Egypt. He hopes someone will guess the reference.
- Evidence is always key. Amir has a conscientious view of human nature, so he second-guesses everything until he is absolutely certain of the truth. He is not above using subterfuge, disinformation, and other misleading tactics to secure concrete proof from people.
- Speaking is a slow and meticulous process, as if he’s analyzing his words for error while he’s saying them. This is a product of the numerous public speaking and political speech lessons he had growing up.
- Despite this caution, he can be rather blunt due to overconfidence and lack of sensitivity towards others. Caroline, his closest friend, fondly recalls a time when she got rejected by her crush and went home crying. The next day, Amir brought a small tub of ice cream to school as consolation for Being Dumped Or Whatever Some Guy Did To Make You Upset. She would chide him for being so rude but accepted the half-melted treat regardless.
- Ancient Egypt is his absolute favorite subject, likely due to how well the remnants of their culture stood strong over several millennia. His room is filled with Ancient Egypt paraphernalia.
- Early on, believing the interest to be a phase, his parents vacationed in Egypt one summer. Their plan would backfire as he snuck into a pyramid without them knowing, forcing them to call the authorities and initiate a nation-wide search. When they would finally return home, Yuna was so amused that she insisted on traveling with them next time they go.
- Caroline notes that Amir is particularly touch sensitive, as even lightly touching his hand with her own would cause him to shudder like a tense animal. She chalks this up to the Chakrabartis not being a physically affectionate family, since the most she’s seen Yuna do is pat him on the shoulder.
- Remembering past details is his specialty. He can recall historically significant events and people by heart, to the point where it can override memories of the modern day. He can recite all the rulers of a dynasty but will forget who most of his classmates are.
- Eventually, he wants to be buried in something nice, suiting his own tastes rather than that of whoever dresses his corpse. It seems to reflect in his day-to-day outfits, with Caroline describing him as someone who’s always prepared for his own funeral XD
- He has expressed a firm desire for his dead body to be perfectly preserved, so that his final appearance to the living and his first appearance to the dead is immaculate.
- Due to his family’s wealth, Amir grew up very financially comfortable (and somewhat irresponsible). He isn’t particularly focused on accumulating money, so he can be a careless spender.
- Loathing filth, contamination, and overly back-breaking labor - par for the course in his expeditions, unfortunately - Amir will find ways around work deemed ‘beneath him’. Like having someone carry him.
- Able to discern ingredients from a single bite, Amir’s palate is delicate, and, consequently, picky.
- Negligence of sleep is partly due to his busy lifestyle and partly due to being an insomniac. This is a lifelong habit; Amir has had shadows under his eyes ever since he was a child.
- Despite being raised Hindu, Amir engages with the practices of all kinds of faith. He insists that such participation is part of his scholarly duties, as religion plays a large role in cultural anthropology.
- In order to connect with Synestheism, he has thoroughly studied YELOR, his patron deity. It seems to be the most challenging project for him yet.
