Specter
CS They’re like us in many ways.
CS But, unlike us, they lack a physical form.
CS While we have some energy in the form of Chroma...
CS They are purely energy.
CS So, that is why they come to us.
Specters (Spectral Creatures) are spiritual entitites composed entirely of energy. They have existed since the beginning of time, and their appearance reflects the world that evolves around them.
All known Specters are logged into the Spectrapedia - an official, international log that still grows to this day. Specter Scientists have estimated that there are millions more kinds of Specters than have been identified so far.
Specters can be seen in nature, civilization, and even in uninhabitable locations such as the deepest recesses of the universe. Though their makeup prevents them being fully corporeal, they can still interact with the world through their energy. This can make them pests, such as Specter who 'consume' farmer's crops by wearing them away.

Those who discover and report a new Specter first claim the ability to name them, though their choice is subject to approval by Spectrapedia officials. Since their official entry requires definitive proof, there are thousands of claims every day that need to be evaluated accordingly.
The degree in which a Specter is friendly towards humans varies. Some, like the Laborador, have manifested directly alongside civilization, so their attraction towards human society appears deeply ingrained in them. Others can be avoidant or even hostile. However, all Specters are capable of feeling a kind of magnetism towards humans, just as we are pulled towards them.

What exactly compells a Specter to bond with a human is dependant on the individual. However, it is generally accepted that they are attracted to one's Chroma - the energy and potential within oneself. A Specter who sees a human with promise (and in the best case, a matured Value) is likely to lower their guard and approach them.
The bonding process is also variable. Colloquially, a 'contract' is formed between Specter and human, allowing both entities to share the respective properties of their form.
The Specter can now enter the human's body at will, merging their forms together. This is known as sequestering. It is generally done through the hands, though it can occur anywhere energy can be honed.
The Specter can also be summoned, re-entering the world in a now corporeal form. It's recommended that Specters are summoned at least once a day for physical enrichment.

Studies on human behavior post-bonding have shown that people experience temporary energetic instability, mood swings, and out-of-body sensations. However, in the long term, people are more content, more driven to fulfill their potential, and can better harness their energy.
