• A perpetually weary individual, Philip has suffered from hypersomnia since he was little. Even if he gets plenty of sleep, he’ll remain in the same restless state throughout the day. He has adapted by training his ability to perform tasks half-awake (to mixed results).
  • He attributes the problem to faulty neurotransmitters in his brain, which would inspire him to study cognitive science.
• Philip’s conditioner contains periwinkle petals and special glitter, which is why he smells flowery and has oddly sparkly hair.
• Hypnovis typically tend to their own and away from other Specter, but they are known to get along well with Cheslyre. It is not uncommon to find one resting within a Hypnovis herd, singing a lullaby.
  • Philip was propositioned by a Cheslyre at one point but turned it down because it was too talkative.
• Although he can nap virtually anywhere, his ideal sleep set-up is quite intricate. It involves blocking out as much light and sound as possible.
• Niibaakamigad was adapted as a surname several generations ago - a means of assimilation into American culture. The original man, Niibaakamigad, was a remarkably charming and mysterious individual. He was said to have a powerful Chroma and a Color Code darker than night itself. As a result, all his descendants are aligned with the NOXIE element.
• The career he would end up in strays far from his field of study - the personal assistant of Inigo Guo, executive of Indic Harbour. Inigo is quite close with the Niibaakamigad family and would choose Philip for the position based off of his keen perception.
  • Philip was initially wary of entering an administrative position, but Inigo organizes his schedule flexibly enough to allow for his personal interests. This doesn’t stop him from trying to incorporate them into the job, however (annoying Inigo, who firmly believes in the separation of work and play)
• An affinity for animals is visible through his vast collection of stuffed toys.
  • He has a preference for sheep, rabbits, and thrush birds, though all kinds of animals can be found. Deer, beavers, hawks, wolves, eagles… if it’s appeared in a dream, it has a place in his room.
  • The character-inspired ones feature particularly old licensed characters. Their being worn by time seems to add to the appeal.
• Spiders are an interest that he got from his mother, Elviza Niibaakamigad. She would encourage and help him adopt a Brazilian Black Tarantula as a child. Docile and affectionate, it would outlive his mother and remain a beloved pet and ‘house guardian’ to this day.
• Innovative and avant-garde art excite him deeply, leading him to all kinds of performances. He is notably a Stefani Zahraoui fan, owning most of her vinyls.
• As with most people who adapt nature-related Color Codes, Philip has a fondness for flora.
  • The gardens at his childhood home were littered with violet-colored flowers. His father, Melanthio Perkins, believed in their healing properties and often recruited his older son to trim and tend to them. Philip would watch, enraptured by the range of colors typically uncommon in nature.
  • He would choose Periwinkle for his Code because Mauve and Iris were already taken.
• Going to amusement parks is a pastime he would pick up as an adult. He likes to wander and take in the sights, sometimes bringing home a cheap plush he won from a game.
  • He only rides the merry-go-round. It lulls him to sleep sometimes.
  • Director Ōshiro of Mimiland fame has attempted to recruit him for a mascot character role (a dreamy prince), though Philip ardently declined, unwilling to play pretend.
• Offshooting from the BRAIN Value, DREAM specializes on deeper layers of internality within one’s brain. As the name suggests, it is only effective on unconscious people. A user with BRAIN may be able to parse through a dream like ripples in a pond, but a user with DREAM can dive in and submerge themself wholly.
• Reciprocity is a principle he keeps close to his heart. Gift-giving is his most visible form of respect.
  • While his personal space is filled with comforting memorabilia, he admits that excess belongings can become a burden. As a result, he likes to re-gift his own items rather than buying them anew.
• In the highlands of Central Mexico lives a proficient ASTRA user. Despite the exorbitant teleporting fee, Philip makes trips now and then to visit her, checking in with his mother and ancestors through channeling.
  • It initially took concerted effort to persuade him towards these services.
• Assistants for the valedictorian and salutatorian of the Program’s 190th class, Mélis Quinby and Idina Morozov, grew close with Philip due to their bosses’ frequent collaboration with each other. Despite his personality, he is typically the least burned-out of the three.
