Equero
The Landscape Specter. Large, bulky, and resilient, Equero are mostly native to wide plains. They are cursorial Specter, built to run long distances and quick to flee from what may startle them. Though they can be difficult to bond with, they exhibit a strong drive for corporeality to feel the land they trot upon.
Overview
A hardworking, down-to-earth cowboy with a strong loyalty to her town, people and lay of the land. As the sheriff of Sienna Valley, nothing gets past her mighty lasso, single action revolver, or her well-trained arms.
Growing up a humble farmhand means that she lives life simply - with her trusty steed, of course.

Trivia
- Her immigration to America came after years of obsession about the nation’s Heartland and Old West geography, history, and culture. Taylor was already acclimated to hard labor in a dry climate, so despite being alone for the first time in a foreign country, she found her place and people right away.
- She is often confused for someone born-and-raised in America. This isn’t helped by her accent, which has shifted from a strong Australian to a stronger Southern twang.
- This influenced her sister Avril to move to America as well, though the younger Sahraoui found her home on the sandy shores instead.
- Oakley, her middle name, was given in tribute to her grandfather, William Oakley Sahraoui. He lived with the Sahraouis on their farm, passing up chores in favor of boasting about his best years as a cattle ranch showman. These exciting tales of dubious authenticity made a strong impression on the young Taylor.
- Revolvers are Taylor’s firearm of choice. She always has one strapped on her holster, but it’s never loaded in her day-to-day; the bullets are kept separate in her pocket.
- Having been taught hunting skills as a child, she practiced her marksmanship more enthusiastically than she studied for school. She justified it to her family by entering shooting competitions and providing for them financially with her winnings. And since she could shoot a cigar out of m’daddy’s hand, they learned not to interfere with her passion.
- She always makes sure that death via hunting is instant and necessary. Even her first kill - done with a squirrel at the age of 9 - was a clean shot through the head.
- Every now and then, a similar, though more elusive community leader makes an appearance at the town, watching from afar and speaking with Taylor only. Citizens were initially wary of the woodsman, but Taylor speaks so highly of him that people assume he’s as trustworthy and generous as she claims.
- With TERRA (as well as her primary element), Taylor exhibits a uniquely strong geokinetic connection. This includes feeling tremors from crowds, stampedes, and even earthquakes miles away.
- She claims to dislike spending too much time by the sea, as it effectively strips her of such.
- In lieu of cigars, Taylor can usually be seen chewing on a piece of straw. Either way, she always has something in her hands/mouth to fidget with. This is a remnant of her younger years, when she smoked, drank, hunted, and indulged in wild rodeos much more frequently. Growing into her thirties, as well as maintaining her leadership role, seemed to have mellowed her out somewhat.
- Taylor’s aim is fantastic, both with shooting and throwing (beanbags, horseshoes, boulders…).
- Her Value allows her to discern the space around her even with her vision impaired. This leads to performances where she’s blindfolded with a bandana and still able to shoot a can head-on.
- Arash, whose accuracy surpasses hers, notes that what it lacks in precision it makes up for with brute strength.
- Her personality bears such a strong resemblance to characters from old cowboy movies that she is commonly confused for an actor rather than a merely a diehard fan. But as much as she adores those films, a life on a set is not meant to be.
- Regardless, she has been consulted by thespians performing in wild west shows. Goldopolis star Diana Morozov grew acquainted with Taylor this way, as if a western movie is another genre she aims to conquer. Taylor has even helped her handle a firearm, to the horror of everyone else.
- Not an administrative nor bureaucratic person, Taylor hands off the business-end of things to the town council. She’s largely accepted as a spiritual community leader rather than a political one, as Sienna Valley’s tourism has seen a boost since her integration.
- Outside of her main occupation, Taylor earns a decent living through bounty hunting. Since many bounty hunters rely on it as their primary source of income, she only pursues the particularly difficult ones.
- She had a habit of bringing back criminals bound up with rope and using them in demonstrations to young hunters-to-be. This was put to an end due to parents complaining about child endangerment.
- Some criminals have made it their goal to become Taylor’s arch-enemy, even though she deals with run-of-the-mill crooks as if she were swatting flies.
- Ninjas are a sore subject for her, as she has a long-standing rivalry with Ira Nilsiam, self-proclaimed master shinobi. They were somewhat close friends growing up, but as their interests diverged, their obsessive enthusiasm pitted them against each other. If he ever dares to stop by, a showdown will commence.
- A softie for country music, Taylor can be seen hanging around the saloons whenever local bands play for the evening. Only after a couple drinks does she join in.
- And after a lot more, she starts getting into trouble. Like dragging horses into the building because she’s convinced they need musical enrichment. Or giving the horses spots on the stage.
- Metal bands resembling horseshoes can be seen at the soles of her cowboy boots. It serves the same purpose as it does for hooves - it protects her precious leather from wear. Unfortunately, she has to attach them herself, since no one else has had such’a brilliant idea b’fore!
- Even though she stands for order, by no means does she hold fast by the law. Some townsfolk question her background, as she had stints of vigilantism before becoming Sienna Valley’s sheriff.
