Rowan Chaudhary

An unkempt, rebellious mischief-maker who manages to both attract trouble and seek it out. What he lacks in social skills he makes up for in his ability to sneak around unnoticed, fine-tuning his senses to his environment.

He claims to have a villainous reputation, though he’s mostly just a prankster and ‘cool guy’.

• Rowan’s appearance will almost always include some kind of animal appendance - most commonly, a fox tail. He says that, aside from being a stylistic choice, it allows him to have one foot in creature mode and assists with the transition to a non-human being.
• O​f his non-prank hobbies, reading is something he can spend hours doing. He is mostly interested in folklore and fairy tales, as well as historical fiction.
• Being a self-proclaimed villain means that he sees insults as a display of affection - the more creative, the better. Being called a 'hero' or 'good guy' will cause Rowan to react with disgust.​
  • He has enough tact to abstain from his worse behavior in front of young, impressionable children, but that doesn't mean he won't still rope them into his pranks.
• Indifference towards his fathers, his older brother Maple postulates, is a forced front Rowan puts on out of rebellion. In reality, he just dislikes their rustic lifestyle. He’d rather live closer to the city.
• Names are difficult to remember for Rowan, so he gives everyone he gets to know a nickname.​
  • He is stubborn about making the nickname his own creation, but he made an exception with Gabrielle's. He alternates between his own and the familial one Gabrielle grew up with.
• Growing up, Rowan had little access to technology, as his family lived in the woods. Even though he would get his own phone as an adult, he still doesn't know how to operate anything besides calling and texting.
• Out-foxing Rowan is remarkably simple, as long as you use basic psychological tricks. He has repeatedly fallen prey to reverse psychology.
• Over time, Rowan grew to prefer a vegetarian diet, likely due to his shapeshifting experiences.​
  • Rowan has expressed horror at particularly meat-heavy diets, showing him that he takes his diet quite seriously.
• During his Color Code development process, Rowan had, for the longest time, considered Radical Red. However, because it's a relatively obscure color, he would end up settling for simply Red.
• Furries are a sensitive subject for Rowan, and he denies ever being one
• Every outfit Rowan wears includes deep pockets. He argues that utility and comfort are the only elements that matter to him, in terms of fashion.​
  • Rowan's pockets usually hold an assortment of rocks and acorns, alongside his trusty slingshot.​
• Living in the woods most of his life has made Rowan adept at surviving in extreme circumstances with little amenities. When he moved into his own place, it would be years until Rowan would get a bed. Or a working refrigerator.
• Lions are, according to Rowan, his current goal in his journey of perfecting certain forms. His failures seem to stem from his lack of personal exposure to lions.​
  • Rowan has, in the past, suggested to close friend Bri De Los Santos that he take her on one of her journalism trips, so that she could drop him off at a savannah. For his own research. ​
• Out of all the main competitors, Rowan has the least amount of romantic/sexual experience, which he argues is due to it being gross n lame n why bother. ​​
  • ​He has blushed around people - particularly those his age, like fellow competitors, so his claim about being completely disinterested may be a front to hide his shyness and reluctance to pursue his feelings.​
  • ​According to the creator, Rowan is somewhere on the asexual spectrum. He is repeatedly shown to be uncomfortable when others make sexual comments, but he isn't averse to it entirely - he just treats it as an extremely intimate and personal subject.​
• While the boundaries of SHAPE's forms are limitless, users of SHAPE often set personal boundaries for themselves. Rowan has acknowledged that, despite his Value giving him the ability to transform into anything, he generally avoids turning into different people. He claims to do so because transforming into a person feels as if he is claiming their identity, while turning into an animal is just another version of him, just as that animal. ​​
  • He has seven creatures in particular he likes to shapeshift into - a fox, a red squirrel, a robin, a black cat, a ladybug, a donkey, and a red panda. ​Foxes are his favorite animal, and he claims to have first practiced his Value through ordinary animals in his vicinity - which were squirrels and robins.​ Why Rowan likes the last three remains unknown.​
  • ​The only humanoid form he's shown interest in are fox spirits, who mainly appear as beautiful women. He sometimes roleplays as them and has admitted to being curious about having a more feminine form.​
