Godfrey Boivin

A dashing, deceptively easy-going libertine who lives lavishly, easing everyone’s suffering with food, festivities, and freedom from all social constraints. He isn’t seen without a drink in hand and a flirtatious remark to offer.

But underneath the genteel is someone quite cutthroat when it comes to what he wants.

• Before he would settle on his current lifestyle - lord of an expansive plot of land, fit with its own orchard, vineyard, and winery - Godfrey worked odd jobs in various restaurants. He started as a custodian, working his way up to server, line cook, assistant chef, then head chef. Now, he works with produce and wine only. Cooking is firmly reserved for celebrations and gatherings.
  • He claims that such grueling work helped him in the end, as he came to work with a wide spectrum of people. People he had to placate through customer service smiles and undeserved respect.
• Entangled in all kinds of social circles due to his lively gatherings, Godfrey is always observing others - their tastes, their skillsets, their relationships… wherever there is drama, he can be seen at the periphery.
• Arash Lockewood, childhood friend and bitter rival, is an ever-present part of his life despite their outspoken mutual disdain. Godfrey promises that Arash is nothing more than an uncivilized forest freak to him, since they can hardly go a conversation without delving into a heated argument or competition.
  • Godfrey’s ascension to lordhood seems to be a particular point of contention between the two, as Arash despises the snobbishness of the ‘high class’.
  • Godfrey appears to dislike sour, tart flavors due to him associating it with Arash.
• Rather than seeking out a Specter, Godfrey attracted the one he would bond with due to the strength of his Chroma alone. A L’acater stalked him from the wilderness, pouncing on him as a sign of interest. Initially horrified yet intrigued, he tentatively allowed it to follow him around, eventually endearing himself to it.
• Everyone seems to be his type. At least, on a surface level. In reality, he prefers those who match him in wit, charm, and ruthlessness; those who are truly worthy of his company will provide a stimulating challenge.
• Rituals and rites make a frequent appearance at Godfrey’s gatherings. An open Synestheist, he celebrates worship of the Chromadeities through said festivities, encouraging his guests to expand their minds and embrace a unique kind of spirituality. Since he leads these events, he has become a religious figure in his own right. Some attend his festivities specifically to worship with him and seek his wisdom.
  • In contrast to other denominations of Synestheism, his belief system encourages release rather than suppression. Food, song, and all-around revelry. Physical intimacy optional but encouraged.
  • Purposefully or not, his Value exacerbates the euphoric effect on others, as people claim to feel a unique high in his presence. The only ones seemingly immune are his part-time assistants.
• On his season of The Program, Godfrey was the competitor responsible for the most eliminations. He maintained an amiable, helpful facade, all while manipulating his peers against each other. This strategy would lead him to Championship, as well as the luxury he dreamed of.
  • His admiration for Rosalyn Anthemusa, the second-place finisher, led to them becoming close after the competition was over. The exact nature of their relationship is unknown, though it looks like it comes with certain… benefits.
• French cuisine is, ironically, his least favorite to cook and prepare. It reminds him of his mother.
• Though Godfrey knows his way around agriculture, he can get overwhelmed in the wild. This doesn’t stop him from traveling wherever he pleases, as if determined to triumph over his weakness.
• He likes perfumes; so much so that he has his own collection. Those who are familiar with him describe his scent as one of his most distinct qualities.
  • He has a particular fondness for natural scents, so many of his perfumes are floral and fruity.
  • Despite lacking the chemistry skills to create them himself, he has expressed interest in learning. In a spare room at his estate, unused glass bottles, oils, and flowers can be found.
• Ever since he matured his Value, Godfrey claims that alcohol is not necessary for him to experience the joys of inebriation. However, he enjoys the taste too much to abstain from drinking. And, with a newfound tolerance, he would need the real thing to get to the level he truly desires.
• Very rarely does he discuss his parents, both of whom have passed. He would bring it up in The Program, when all of the competitors were discussing their families. He joked that it wasn’t a particularly enchanting household, as it was a home for drunks, not for a child.
  • He would clarify that his father had ABS - Auto-Brewery Syndrome, which would cause an intoxicating effect through the carbohydrates. Not a drinking problem, per se.
• In the long list of Champions, Godfrey is one of the few who is ignored by official Program media.
  • He doesn’t seem to take it personally, attributing their ire to his loving following. After all, he’s helped them find joy and fulfillment in something besides the Program.
• Not humble about his skills of seduction, Godfrey is rumored to be one of the most… well-endowed characters. Both in physique and performance.
• Everyone who comes to his gatherings gets a gift bag. They’re typically full of seeds, fruit, and even potted saplings, so his delicious grapes can be spread throughout the land. Only the wine recipes remain secret.
