• Though Clover tends to avoid remaining rooted in one place for too long, he can get roped up in other people’s conflicts due to his natural inclination to be a mediator. However, he often isn’t taken very seriously because of his laid-back attitude, and he has a tendency to submit and relent if people react poorly.
• His favorite type of alcoholic beverage is, to no one’s surprise, chartreuse. He generally prefers herbal flavors over particularly fruity ones, citing the taste as soothing and medicinal.
  • He is also an avid tea drinker as a result, though he notes that alcohol calms him more effectively.
• Ever since he graduated from school, Clover elected to travel rather than find an occupation and settle down. He found that his Value came in handy this way, as he could assist people in exchange for food and shelter and leave before his self-proclaimed ‘bad luck’ could punish those he helped.
• Regardless of all the traveling he does, Clover actually has poor stamina and an overall poor health. Whenever he’s gotten sick, it’s been so severe as to be almost lethal.
• Olivia, his sister, was the primary breadwinner for their family as they were growing up due to their mother’s inability to keep a job. Clover speaks of her in high regard and expresses some envy for her current relatively normal life (though she seems less than thrilled about it).
• The first time he had encountered Ladiluc, Clover felt that they were his destined Specter. However, they are flighty and generally avoid humans, so Clover had months of trial and error before he found two to successfully bond with.
  • Bonding with multiple Specter is rare but possible if the Specters divide their total energy among each part, like halves of a whole. Clover bonded with two Ladiluc - one red, whom he calls Carmina, and one green, whom he calls Burana.
• Abstract Values like KARMA are the most difficult to study due to their immaterial and powerful nature. Clover spent many years during his Value development inspecting his abilities as well as the cause-and-effect surrounding them. His personal conclusion was that, though he could measure an amount of control over luck, he could just as easily be at its whims as it is to his.
  • Historically, users with KARMA have attempted to use it to their advantage, such as in risky investments and high-stakes gambling. However, by some cosmic power, this has never ended well, and Clover seems well aware of this.
• Food tasting is one of his favorite activities, and he’s developed quite a sensitive palate because of it. He is a skilled chef and is a big fan of the culinary arts.
• Originally, his name came from an incident when he was around 7 years old. He was playing in a grassy meadow and happened to spot a four-leafed clover. He picked it and thought about the different rarities of different clovers. The next day, he visited the field again and managed to find one with five leaves. The next day, six. When he found a seven-leafed clover the day after that, he took it as a sign and ate it. He proceeded to be bed-ridden for a week.
  • He cites this memory as the origin of his Value. Once he started thinking about the probability of finding a certain kind of clover, he began feeling a ‘seventh-sense’ and followed that intuition.
  • He also describes it as an example of the ultimate, ever-present consequence of seeking good luck. Sooner or later, the world will ‘balance’ itself with misfortune.
• Rumor has it that Clover is quite the playboy, as he has no issue flirting and using his relaxed charms to his advantage. Though he admits that he’s been in plenty of relationships, he states that he has no intention of playing with people’s hearts.
• The long hair that he wears was partly inspired by his sister. She was the one who initially insisted he grow it out, because she liked playing with it as if she were a hairdresser.
• Underneath his chill demeanor is intense anxiety - a similar condition shared by his sister, who suppresses it with work and responsibilities. He does the opposite by alleviating himself of burdens altogether.
• Naturally, as a result of his travels, Clover is a talented polyglot. He can even decipher certain animal and Specter ‘languages’, to a certain extent.
• According to him, he follows both an optimistic and pessimistic philosophy. He believes in a greater good, in people, and in a hopeful future. However, he has a tendency to catastrophize and consider potential consequences even in the most mundane of circumstances. The powers that be require that everything comes with a price, and it’s up to people’s limited opportunity for control to decide whether it’s worth paying.
  • As a result, an action that results in consequence may be encouraging for Clover, who believes that something good is destined to occur in tandem.
• Every time someone asks him how he lost his arm, he tells a different story. Sometimes, it involves a horrible accident. Other times, he was simply born with it.
